PESTA - Here She Comes

Found this on the bandcamp feed last night from Citiesonflame, who has a great collection you should check out and "follow". Pesta is heavy stoner in the Sleep mold. This four song debut EP displays a style that is both uptempo and laidback. I know that probably sounds stupid but the vocalist has a relaxed atmosphere which belies the energy of the band behind him. It's a solid game plan and is used to good effect here. The album cover is going to make you think it's a death or black metal album but it's only heavy rock n roll and I, for one, like it. It's up as a PAY-WHAT-YOU-WANT download and I'm sure you're not going to want to miss out on it.

Here's a weird little freebie. Soror is a three piece experimental metal band out of Brazil. Their sound and overall genre can be a bit hard to pin down as these free spirits glide from doom to black with vocals that switch from King Diamond-like to growly. I don't know the specifics because there isn't a ton of information out there about this band but there's a 66.6% chance that the vocalist is a woman. Whatever it is they're doing, it's got a spooky vibe and I like it. I don't imagine it will appeal to everyone but nothing ever does. On top of anything else there is to say about it, this 5 song EP is available for absolutely FREE DOWNLOAD so there's nothing to lose but time by checking it out on the player below.
